Barnaby's automotive career began after leaving Esanda Finance, starting in F&I at a Brisbane dealership where he quickly earned recognition as a multi-award-winning operator. His success led to an opportunity in Sydney, where he progressed through Sales Manager roles—both New and Used—before becoming Dealer Principal and the youngest Ford Dealer Principal in Australia.
He went on to oversee the merger of two dealerships into a new location, and was later entrusted with turning around an underperforming dealership—a challenge he delivered on successfully. This hands-on dealership experience, combined with his later role as Chief Commercial Officer at Allied Credit where he grew the portfolio from $200M to over $5 Billion, gives him a uniquely dual perspective that is exceptionally rare in the industry.
Beyond automotive, Barnaby served as Group Dealer Principal at Sydney City Motorcycles—NSW's largest motorcycle dealer group—overseeing 10 franchises across 3 multi-brand super stores, leading major business restructures and expanding into new markets.
At Allied Credit, he forged 25+ OEM and JV partnerships across automotive and recreational industries, including Ford, Hyundai, Subaru, Kia, Kawasaki, Harley-Davidson, Triumph, Mercury Marine, Sea-Doo, and BRP—the highest number of OEM partnerships in the sector.
